Lagoon Valley Park

The Lagoon Valley is a popular getaway spot in the Vacaville area. Its abundance of lakes, hiking trails, and colorful nature make it not only one of the most beautiful areas in the city but also one of the most relaxing. Locals flock to the park to reconnect with nature and to enjoy the serene views of the city.

The 470-acre park offers more than breathtaking views, with BBQ and picnic areas, fishing opportunities, and even a historic Adobe home. The park is also a great spot for strolling around the lake in non-motorized boats. If sightseeing is your goal, try one of the many hiking trails for some of the best views around. Catch one of the sunsets overlooking the mountains or cut through the hiking trails for views of the local wildlife.

Nut Tree

Beautiful sights do not always have to come in the form of expansive parks or quiet landscapes. Nut Tree is Vacaville’s 71-acre master planned community. The best thing about this unique area is the diverse attractions. In addition to many shopping and dining options, there are also plenty of sights to see. In fact, one of the most popular photography locations is in front of the carousel at the Nut Tree Amusement Park.

Other wonderful sights in Nut Tree that are worth visiting include the Engine #5 train, the life-sized checkerboard, or the entertaining Nut Tree photo wall.

Cold Canyon-Putah Creek State Wildlife Area

The Cold Canyon-Putah Park is maintained by the University of California’s Natural Reserve System and is a great spot for hiking enthusiasts. There are plenty of trails to choose from, meeting the needs of all skill levels.

Choose the Stebbins Cold Canyon Loop for a challenging hike around the mountain’s width that also gives you views of Lake Berryessa and the nearby canyons. Even the easier hiking trails offer some worthwhile views of the wildlife areas and the rocky terrains.

Browns Valley Hills

The Browns Valley Hills of Vacaville has been transformed into a popular hiking destination. Although there are no specifically designated trails, there are a few routes commonly used by the locals. The sweeping slopes of the Browns Valley allow you to take in elevated sights of the city and mature trees below.

A common Vacaville tradition is to have your photo taken on the tire swing that sits on top of the mountain, with the city as the backdrop. Although the steep hills can be tiresome, there are plenty of benches to take a break on along the way. All of the park’s trails lead to one point, ensuring you are always able to find your way back to the park’s entrance.

Vacaville is one of the best destinations for taking memorable and charming photographs. These are just a few of the most picture-perfect sights the city has to offer.
