Vacaville Parks Worth Visiting for a Relaxing AfternoonWhether you’re looking to play a game, get in some hiking, or simply find a secluded spot where you can relax and unwind, Vacaville, California, has several parks to suit your needs. The next time you want to get outside and enjoy the fresh air, make plans to head to one of these top parks.

Pena Adobe/Lagoon Valley Park

Situated south of downtown Vacaville and just off Interstate 80, Pena Adobe Regional Park and Lagoon Valley Park offer 470 acres of unspoiled beauty. Head out on one of the hiking trails to take in scenic views of the area, or check out Lagoon Lake for non-motorized boating and fishing. If you’re spending the day with your four-legged family members, be sure to let them spend some time running and playing at the fenced-in dog park. You’ll also find a disc golf course, horseshoe pits, barbecue areas, and bike trails.

Andrews Park

Located in the heart of downtown Vacaville, the beautiful 17.9-acre Andrews Park offers the perfect relaxing retreat. You can stroll along one of the rambling trails or discover a bench near Ulatis Creek to sit back and listen to the babbling water. Kids will love spending some time at the Great Wonders Playground, and everyone will enjoy finding a shady barbecue area to have an outdoor picnic for lunch. The park is also home to a variety of special CreekWalk events, such as summer concerts, food truck gatherings, and family dance parties.

Centennial Park

The 40-acre Centennial Park located north of downtown Vacaville is a great place to go when you’re looking to either play or watch some games. The park offers three Little League fields, one Pony League/Babe Ruth field, one wiffle ball field, four soccer fields, one large and one small artificial turf soccer field, one outdoor roller hockey court, and four tennis courts. However, sports aren’t the only activities you can enjoy at the park. You’ll also find a hiking trail that winds throughout the park and makes a nice spot for a walk.

Keating Park

Tucked away at the southern end of Vacaville, Keating Park is a hidden treasure for baseball lovers. This 20-acre park has seven baseball diamonds, one scoreboard, a concession stand, and multi-purpose fields for youth ball and softball. When you pick up some of your favorite snacks from the concession stand, you can take them back to one of the three grandstands to continue watching the games, or you can spread out on one of the 10 picnic tables.

Arlington Park

Tucked away in one of the southern communities of Vacaville, Arlington Park is an 18-acre suburban park that offers a variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy. If you’re interested in playing sports, the park has four baseball fields and two football fields. Kids will have a great time at the playground, and you can make a day of it by bringing along a lunch to have at the picnic area.

No matter what type of outdoor activities you’re looking to enjoy, you’re sure to find them when you head to these fun parks around Vacaville.
