4 Things You'll Love About the 2018 Dodge DurangoThe new 2018 Dodge Durango is here, and it comes with some impressive features. From a high towing capacity to plenty of safety features, you’ll love driving this car. Here are just a few reasons why you should consider buying one.

Performance

The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine has a towing capacity of up to 6,200 pounds. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine can tow up to 7,400 pounds while maintaining 22 miles per gallon on the highway and produces 360 horsepower. The Durango SRT has a 6.4-liter HEMI engine, 470 -pound-feet of torque, and 475 horsepower. It was rated best in class with its towing capacity of up to 8,700 pounds. The rear drive axle and front engine have 50/50 weight distribution, so traction is improved, and downforce increases when the weight shifts to the drive axle.

Safety

The Durango has a variety of features to keep the driver and passenger safe when driving. The ParkView rear back-up camera lets you see any objects, people, or vehicles that might be in your path when you’re backing up. Parking assist is available to help you get into tricky spots without scratching your car. The blind spot monitoring feature lets you know of any vehicles outside of your peripheral vision by alerting you when a car comes on either side of you.

The Durango also has features that help keep you safe when it’s raining. The Rain Brake Support system helps take away water from the brake pads when it’s rainy to make braking safer. This is automatically engaged when the windshield wipers are activated. Even when it’s dry out, the brake assist feature knows when an emergency stop is necessary and will apply brakes as needed.

Technology

You’ll always stay connected in the Dodge Durango with SiriusXM Guardian. It will help you with directions when you need navigation and offer roadside assistance for when something happens with your car. You’ll always know what the traffic looks like, and you’ll be able to  see if you should take an alternative route. Your phone can be connected with Bluetooth, so your favorite playlist can be on during your drive. You’ll also be able to control commands just by using your voice, so you can better focus on the road.

Interior

The Durango fits a maximum of seven people and has over 50 various seating configurations. An option is available to let the passengers in the second row slide their seats back to the third row for more room. When you need cargo space, up to 84.5 cubic feet can be made available by folding the second and third row seats down. Your passengers will love staying charged with the USB ports and 115-volt power outlet in the center console, and they can even control the vents.
